THE ESTIMATION OF THE COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGES OF THE EXPORT OF ARMENIA IN THE MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES

The Middle East is the third largest export partner of Armenia after CIS and EU. Year by year export to that region increases.
The indexes of Balassa and Greenway-Milner point out that more than two tens of product groups exported from Armenia to the Middle East were possessing comparative advantage during certain years. Taking into account the growing demand of the Middle East countries towards the products exported from Armenia and the continuing expansion of external economic relationships with that region, it is important to deepen the specialization in the branches having comparative advantage and take steps prompting increase of the export of those products.
